Red Sox WPA through 5/4/06

A nice quiet game, a welcome relief after the nail-biters over the past few games. Clement broke out of his funk with his best start of the season to lead the WPA pack. Offensively, the leader was Lowell, who went 2-4 with 2 RBI. Just about everyone made a positive WPA contribution, with the exception of Seanez, Tavarez, and (you knew this was coming) Gonzo. Papelbon benefitted from the long balls coughed up by Seanez and Tavarez (they've now given up 7 HR between them in 19.2 IP), as he was called in for the two-out save in the ninth. Brad Lidge got another one last night, so Papelbon again shares the lead, now with 11.
